Shifting conflict to connection

The staff at a large organization suffered from low morale, absenteeism, poor communications and high stress from external changes outside their control. There had been a labor grievance in the group and employees barely spoke at staff meetings. The director was prone to blowing up at his employees in public. People felt discouraged, frightened and powerless. Through one-on-one coaching for emotional intelligence and anger management, compassionate conflict mediation and group coaching for interpersonal communications and conflict resolution, these people turned themselves around and learned to cooperate and feel joyful at work. The director learned to lead by example and work thoughtfully with his employees to improve performance. Staff took initiative and meetings became productive and energizing. Bottom line: absenteeism decreased, internal and external customers were happier and the organization saved money.

More frustration, distrust, anger and breakdown are occurring in the workplace, causing diminished productivity, sapped inspiration, departed talent and lost revenue.

We provide a safe space for people to move from conflict to reconciliation to collaboration.

We help people uncover their underlying expectations and needs and support their alignment with organizational values and purpose. We coach them to articulate a resolution that connects people productively.

We specialize in mediating dialogue throughout an organization - from CEO to employee - across cultures, generations, genders and workplace functions.

Our clients report greater staff retention, huge financial savings and greater satisfaction at work.

Barbara has the ability to establish trust in a group. It was a hard challenge and she met it. -Angelina Duarte Dean of Student Services, West Valley College

We've been through these things before and nothing worked. The retreat was tough, but worthwhile. I'd do it again. Mel and Barbara did a good job of surfacing the conflicts we need to address. -California Teachers Association
